Ninth Annual Derek Gordon Seminar
The Department of Sociology, Psychology and Social Work will host the Ninth Annual Derek Gordon Seminar on Saturday, January 29, from 9:30 a.m. to 4:40 p.m. The Derek Gordon Seminar presents the research work of postgraduate students in the Department. This year, the theme of the seminar is Dimensions of Disadvantage and Exclusion. Topics to be presented include Household Composition and Economic Survival Amongst the Urban Poor, The Education of Hearing Impaired Children at the Primary School Level and Abuse in Intimate Relationships: Case Studies of Jamaican Men. The keynote address at the seminar will be delivered by Professor Eudine Barriteau, Head of the Centre for Gender and Development Studies at the UWI Cave Hill Campus in Barbados. Members of the public are invited to attend.
