Annual Research Day
The Mona Campus of the University of the West Indies will host its Annual Research Day on January 27 and 28 with the theme ‘Natural Hazards, Disasters and Sustainable Development’. Research Day will be declared open by Governor General, Sir Howard Cooke at the Opening Ceremony which takes place on Thursday, January 27 at the Undercroft of the Senate Building. The guest speaker at the ceremony will be Minister of Finance and Planning, Dr. the Hon. Omar Davies. Research Day features a two day exhibition on Research underway, at the Mona Campus. There will also be two public fora on Living with Natural Hazards’ and ‘Determining Natural Hazards Risk and Vulnerability. A film entitled ‘Tsunami’ will be shown during the lunch hour on Thursday, January 27. Tours of the Campus will run from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Thursday and 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The public is invited to attend.
