TMRI Intervention Study
The Tropical Medicine Research Institute (TMRI)
UWI is now recruiting healthy women to
participate in focus group discussions on
Jamaican women’s attitudes, knowledge and beliefs
about healthy lifestyle including exercise and
dietary intake. These discussions will take
place up to May 2005. This information will help
in the development of a diet and exercise pilot
intervention study to take place later in the
year. You may be eligible for the discussions if
you are not pregnant or breast-feeding; have no
history of high blood pressure, heart disease,
stroke, diabetes, kidney disease and work in an
administrative or technical post at the UWI Mona
Campus. If you participate in the discussions
you will learn more about the benefits of diet
and exercise on health; receive diet and exercise
information which will guide you in the right
direction towards a healthy lifestyle. If you
are interested, please visit the Office of the
Intervention Study, TMRI, (next to the Medical
Library) or call 702-4588 or email:
