Vice Chancellor, Professor E. Nigel Harris announced recently that Pro Vice Chancellor, Professor the Hon Errol Morrison, Dean of the School for Graduate Studies and Co-Chair of the Board for Graduate Studies and Research, has been granted a one-year leave of absence to assume leadership of Blue Cross of Jamaica. The Vice Chancellor has publicly thanked Professor Morrison for the energy and sense of entrepreneurship that he brought to his duties as PVC for Graduate Studies.
During his absence, a review of our Graduate Programmes will be undertaken by a small committee, chaired by Professor Clement Sankat, which will make recommendations for addressing the weaknesses and capitalising on the strengths of the programmes, which, in the view of the Vice Chancellor, represents one of the vitally important areas in which the UWI brings unique value to the Caribbean.
Professor Wayne Hunte, Pro Vice-Chancellor, Research will, during the incoming academic year, assume oversight of the School for Graduate Studies, in addition to his duties as PVC Research and Co-Chair of the Board for Graduate Studies and Research.
