Forensic Interviewing of Children Workshop
As part of its contribution to equip social workers, police personnel and all who work with children affected by violence and abuse, the UWI through its Department of Sociology and Social Work, and in collaboration with the Ministry of Health, will be hosting a workshop on Forensic Interviewing of Children. This will be held on Thursday, August 11 from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. in the Department of Management Studies on the Mona Campus.
Trainer for the workshop is internationally-renowned expert, Sara Blahauvietz from Corner House Inter-Agency Child Abuse and Training Centre in Minnesota, USA.
The cost is J$5000 per person. Group rates are available.
Lecturer in the Social Work Unit, Mrs. Rose Robinson-Hall says the workshop is specially developed so that those who deal with the victims of trauma may yield better results in getting as much information from children without leaving them further traumatized by the interview experience.
