The UWI Library was recently awarded a UNESCO grant for its proposal entitled “Information for All Programme.”
The project was among some 24 selected from 502 applications to the UNESCO Bureau of the Intergovernmental Council for the Information For All Programme. The grant will be used to stage a four-day workshop on preservation and digitization of cultural heritage for librarians, archivists and media personnel in the Eastern Caribbean and Belize.
The Commonwealth Library Association, whose Secretariat is in the UWI Library, was also among the selected awardees. They will develop an Information Literacy Training Programme for Public Librarians in the Commonwealth.
