Course in Sustainable Coastal Development
Marine Scientist and Manager of the Caribbean Coastal Data Centre at the UWI, Marcia Creary, has been selected to participate in a five week advance international training course in Sustainable Coastal Development in Sweden starting September 10.
Ms. Creary will join 24 other environmental professionals from Africa, Asia, Latin America, the Caribbean, Eastern Europe and the Middle East. She will present a case study on the Genesis and Development of the Jamaica Coral Reef Monitoring Network, JCRMN, which monitors, researchers and manages coral reefs in Jamaica. Ms. Creary will also develop an action plan for the continued support of the JCRMN, which will be implemented on her return to Jamaica.
