Blood Donation Drive

The University of the West Indies in partnership with National Blood Transfusion Service will host a blood drive on Tuesday March 28 and Wednesday March 29 in the Assembly Hall, Mona from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
The Start a Habit for Life blood donation campaign was launched on March 16 and is being implemented by four members of the Advanced Social Marketing Class of the Caribbean Institute of Media and Communication who have chosen the promotion of consistent blood donation among the UWI population, as the focus for its final year project. The overall objective of the project is to encourage a culture of blood donation among the University’s student and staff population. The campaign is a follow up to a similar blood donation campaign that was implemented on the campus in previous years. The University’s Health Centre, in association with the National Blood Transfusion Service has committed to implement three blood drives during the course of each academic year. The current campaign, which will be implemented between March16 and 29, aims to attract 400 blood donors, 150 more than the previously held drive.
