The 10th Annual Derek Gordon Seminar, under the theme “Social Stratification and Exclusion,” will be held on November 19, 2005 commencing at 9:00 a.m. in the Social Sciences Lecture Theatre.
The seminar is a major highlight in the department’s calendar, which has as its primary objective, the showcasing of quality, scholarly, graduate work and research.
Guest speaker will be Professor Don Robotham, Professor of Anthropology in the Graduate Center at the City University of New York. Professor Robotham has his roots in UWI Mona, having served as Pro Vice Chancellor for Graduate Studies, the Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences and as the Head of Department for Sociology.
