Conference and Mary Seivwright Day
The Nursing Midwifery Research Centre of the UWI School of Nursing will be hosting an International Nursing Midwifery Research Conference and Mary Seivwright Day under the theme ‘Changing Visions to Reality through Nursing Research 1966-2006’. The conference will be held from June 1-3, 2006 at the Sunset Jamaica Grande Hotel, in Ocho Rios, Jamaica. The 2006 conference is a special occasion for the School of Nursing as it will be celebrating its 40th anniversary. The keynote address at the conference will be delivered by Assistant Provost for Minority, Equity and Gender at the University of Pennsylvania School of Nursing, Professor Loretta Sweet Jemmott. Professor Jemmott is a renowned international researcher in HIV/AIDS Interventions for Youth Populations. The anniversary celebrations will also include a banquet to be held under the theme, ‘Honouring our Heritage, Acknowledging Achievements: Moving Forward with Confidence.
