10th Annual Derek Gordon Seminar

The 10th annual Derek Gordon Seminar will be held on Saturday, November 19, commencing at 9:00 a.m. in the Social Sciences Lecture Theatre. The theme of the seminar is “Social Stratification and Exclusion”.
The guest speaker will be Professor Don Robotham, who is currently a Professor of Anthropology in the Graduate Center, at the City University of New York. Professor Robotham is a former Head of Department of Sociology and Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences at UWI, Mona Campus and was also Pro Vice Chancellor for Graduate Studies. The seminar is named after and in honour of Derek Gordon another stalwart from the Department of Sociology, Psychology and Social Work and the Faculty of Social Sciences. The annual seminar aims to showcase quality, scholarly, graduate work and research in the Department.
