The Instructional Development Unit (IDU) invites members of the academic and senior administrative staff to its annual 3-day Teaching Skills Workshop to be held Tuesday, January 10 – Thursday, January 12, 2006.
This 3-day workshop is designed to enhance the skills required for effective instruction at the University level. It is geared towards: Increasing participant’s awareness of how students learn and the processes of critical self-evaluation; Helping participants identify challenges students might have coping with meeting the demands of University courses; Exploring techniques and strategies to help students learn effectively; and Engaging the processes of self-monitoring.
The workshop will be held 9:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. each day in the IDU’s Training Room (Upstairs the Inter-Faculty Lecture Theatre). You may register by e-mail to idu@uwimona.edu.jm or by phone extensions 2341 / 2730 or 970-0376.
