Book Launch and Lecture on Mental Illness and Personal Identity
Near Death Experience: A Holographic Experience’ is the title of a book by Dr Oswald Harding, Senior Research Fellow in the Department of Language, Linguistics and Philosophy. The book will be launched at the Mona Visitors Lodge on Thursday, December 8, beginning at 6.00 p.m. It explores near death experiences (out of body experiences) as a trans-personal phenomenon and our current understanding of reality. Guest speaker at the book launch will be Professor George Graham of the Universities of Alabama and Wake Forest in North Carolina, USA. On Friday, December 9, Professor Graham will deliver a lecture entitled ‘Mental Illness and Personal Identity’. That lecture will be held at the Undercroft of the Senate Building at the UWI, Mona Campus, from 5.30 p.m. to 8.30 p.m. The lecture is being organized by the Philosophy Section of the Department of Language, Linguistics and Philosophy, Mona. Interested persons are invited to attend.
