Natural Products and Medicinal Chemistry Symposium – January 3-6
The Department of Chemistry, UWI Mona will be hosting its Twenty First Biennial Symposium on Natural Products and Medicinal Chemistry from January 3-6 in the Chemistry Lecture Theatre 5. This symposium, which began in 1966, is the longest running international scientific meeting in the Caribbean. The upcoming conference will be attended by about seventy overseas participants. These include a number of distinguished chemists from academia and industry in the Caribbean, United States, United Kingdom Switzerland and Japan.
Through the years, this conference has provided opportunities for many productive collaborations between West Indian Chemists and participants from overseas. Graduate students in chemistry from all three UWI Campuses will present posters describing their work, and benefit from interaction with the visitors and participation in scientific sessions of a high standard.
The Opening Ceremony will take place on Tuesday, January 3 at 9:30am at Chemistry Lecture Theatre 5.
