Reggae Veterans Stage Public Forum at UWI
The Reggae Studies Unit at the University of the West Indies, Mona, will be hosting a forum entitled “Drum Talk - A Conversation between Lloyd Knibb and Lowell ’Sly’ Dunbar: Legendary Skatalites Drum Innovator meets Contemporary Master Drummer.” The event will be held on Tuesday February 7 at the Undercroft of the Senate Building, UWI, Mona, commencing at 6:00 p.m. The event is a reasoning designed to make Jamaican music history available to contemporary generations of University students and other interested persons. The event is the brainchild of Herbert ‘Hereby’ Miller, a cultural historian who is registered in the MPhil/PhD programme in Cultural Studies in the Institute of Caribbean Studies at Mona; specializing in jazz and Caribbean music. Mr. Miller will be the evening’s presenter. Admission is free and the public is invited to attend.
