Annual Intimate Relationships Series
The Counselling Service Annual Intimate Relationships series will continue on February 9, 16 and 23 (Thursdays) at the Neville Hall Lecture Theatre (N1) Faculty of Humanities and Education from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. Topics to be covered include: Choosing to be involved in an Intimate Relationship; What should I look for in a partner? How can I tell if it is true love or just infatuation? Sex and Romance, When is it the right time for sex? Does romance always fade or can we keep ours alive? Handling Conflicts and Break-ups, Is conflict a sign of a poor relationship? Handling disagreement skillfully; Making it through a break-up; Keys to keeping a relationship working well; What qualities characterize relationships that work well?; How to grow together in love. Videotapes of John Grey, author of the best selling Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus series are used as the basis for discussion. Participants will also have the opportunity to assess themselves and reflect on their relationships through written exercise. Students and members of staff are invited to attend.
