Series on Philanthropy
The UWI Development and Endowment Fund’s Centre for Caribbean Philanthropy in collaboration with the Stella Maris Foundation will launch a weekly series on Philanthropy titled “Giving Back: the Philanthropic Information Exchange for the Profit and Not-for-profit Communities.” The principal aim of the series is to aid in the development of the non-profit sector and philanthropic practitioners by examining the role of social reinvestment in relation to the government, corporations, nonprofits, faith-based entities and international donor agencies. The series will take the form of seminars, which will be hosted on Fridays at the UWI Centre for Caribbean Philanthropy, 16 Gibraltar Camp Way, from February 24 – March 31. These seminars featuring professionals such as Dr. Wayne Henry of the World Bank, Fabian Brown of the St. Patrick’s Foundation and Managing Director of Pro Communications, Jean Lowrie-Chin will address a number of issues including PR/Marketing for NGOs, Building Philanthropic Partnerships, Engendering Corporate Social Responsibility and Faith based Philanthropy.
