Latinos in the United States

The Department of Literatures in English is hosting the film series 'LATINOS in the UNITED STATES' during Semester II, 2006. Films will be shown each Friday at 11 a.m. in N4 in the Faculty of Humanities and Education, UWI, Mona. The series is hosted by Dr. Gregory Stephens, Lecturer of Cultural Studies and Film, in association with E21h (Modern American Literary Prose); Special 2006 Topic: U.S. Caribbean & Latin American Immigrant Literature. Class Website:http://www.mona.edu/liteng/courses/e21h_2006. The public is invited. Most films are about Latin Americans/people from the Caribbean who have emigrated to the United States. Some films deal with life on the border between the U.S. and Mexico, including some portions filmed in Mexico. The next film in the series is “La Ofrenda: The Days of the Dead”, which will be shown on February 24.
