Administrative ANNEXE to the Senate Building.

Major construction activity is taking place in the Registry/Bursary area as the UWI, Mona Campus continues efforts to improve the delivery of services by these departments and more efficiently service the requirements of its students, staff and the wider community.
Construction of an Administrative Annexe to the Senate building commenced in September 2005 and is scheduled to be completed in October 2006. The Annexe, which is located in the area of the former Registry/Bursary Car Park, will house the Human Resources Division, and sections of the Bursary, the Registry and the Deputy Principal’s Office.
The overall project will also involve a refurbishment, extension and re-organization of the wing of the Senate building, which currently houses the Examinations and Student Records Sections of the Registry and the Customer Service, Payroll, Cashier, Pensions and Staff Benefits Sections of the Bursary.
The Annexe, along with the re-furbished and extended wing, will facilitate a range of administrative activities. It will include an expanded and reconfigured Bursary Cashiering Area, ID Services and an integrated Student Information and Registration Service Area. There will also be an area with Computer kiosks for students and staff to access information, and an all-inclusive one-stop Human Resource Centre, including a Staff Training facility. The building has been designed with an elevator and ramps, in order to ensure that the physically challenged will have access not only to the Annexe and refurbished area, but also to the main Senate Building and the Council Room. In addition, it will provide for covered access to the Undercroft and new sanitary facilities for persons using the Building as well as the Undercroft.
