Exhibition Honouring His Excellency the Most Honourable Professor Kenneth O. Hall, ON, OJ,Governor General of Jamaica

The exhibition which was mounted by the Library for the ceremony in honour of His Excellency the Most Honourable Professor Kenneth Hall, ON, OJ, Governor General of Jamaica on Thursday, April 20 at 5:30 p.m. at the Mona Visitors’ Lodge is now on display in the Catalogue Hall of the Main Library. It highlights his early life at his Alma Mater, Rusea’s High School, his higher educational achievements and his ten years as principal of the UWI, Mona Campus. During Professor Hall’s tenure as principal, UWI and CARICOM forged close links resulting in the UWI-CARICOM Institutional Co-operation Project. One of the products of this Project is a number of publications some of which he authored, co-authored or edited. A sample of these forms part of the exhibition. Also highlighted are some of his outstanding achievements as UWI Principal. These are outlined in 8 major headings: Increased Access, Student Centredness, Continued Teaching and Curriculum reform, Modernization of the Institution (Improvement of the Teaching/Learning Environment), Research, Intellectual Enrichment, and Innovation in Governance and Repositioning of the UWI. Professor Hall also gave strong support to the Library’s technological developments during his administration and some of the advancements are also highlighted. The exhibition will run for four weeks.
