Sir Arthur Lewis Institute hosts Public Forum on Memoranda of Understanding
Sir Arthur Lewis Institute of Social and Economic Studies will host a public forum on Thursday, May 18 from 3:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. at the Social Sciences Lecture Theatre (SSLT), UWI Mona. The forum is entitled “The Memoranda of Understanding (MOU) and Jamaica’s Development – Rescuing the MOU”, to examine issues of workers’ rights, economic growth, global competitiveness, productivity, social insurance, fiscal challenges and more. Panelists include Senator Dwight Nelson, Jamaica Confederation of Trade Union/Bustamante Industrial Trade Union; Dr. Charles Douglas, Jamaica Productivity Centre; Mr. Wayne Jones, Jamaica Confederation Trade Union/Jamaica Civil Service Association; Mrs. Jacqueline Lloyd, Jamaica Employment Federation and Dr. Peter-John Gordon, Planning Institute of Jamaica and a representative of the Private Sector Organization of Jamaica.
