International Nursing Midwifery Research Conference and Mary Seivwright Day
The UWI School of Nursing, Mona in celebration of the 40th anniversary of the School will present an International Nursing
Midwifery Conference and Mary J. Seivwright Day, June 1-3 at the Sunset Jamaica Grande Hotel in Ocho Rios. The theme for the conference is “Changing Visions to Reality through Nursing Research 1966 - 2006”.
The Conference aims to expose nurses, midwives and nursing students to current research findings that will assist them to apply evidence to clinical practice that can improve patient care.
This conference has attracted a number of distinguished speakers including Professor Loretta Sweet-Jemmott, van Amerigen Professor in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing, Co-Director of the Centre for Health Disparities Research, University of Pennsylvania School of Nursing. She has done substantial research in HIV/AIDS/STIs in Philadelphia and internationally.
Professor Rosemarie Rizzo Parse, Niefhoff Chair at Loyola University, Chicago world-renowned nursing theorist will be assisting nurses to set a framework for nursing practice.
