Promoting Wellness on Campus
The University Heath Centre will be hosting a “Breast Cancer Awareness Day” on Tuesday, June 27 from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The Mobile Mammography Unit of the Jamaica Cancer Society will be providing mammography services as well as educational videos, distribution of brochures and an opportunity to discuss your concerns about breast cancer with the medical staff. The cost of the mammogram is $440.00 with your health card (LOJ).
A down payment of $200.00 is required to book a place and the remainder will be collected on the day of the test.
To make an appointment, please contact the Billing Office by Friday June 23. Spaces are limited so please book early.
Clients must be aged 40 years and over; have not had a mammogram in the last year; not be pregnant and not be breastfeeding. It is recommended that clients doing mammograms wears a two-piece outfit, which will allow only the top to be removed for the test. No talcum powder should be on or around the breast area. Remember Mammography can detect breast cancer at a stage where it is curable. It can save your life.
