2006- 2007 UWI Venture Competition (UWIVC)
The UWI Venture Competition (UWIVC) is the premier business plan competition of the region where teams of MBA and graduate business students present their business ideas to compete for the coveted role of representing the UWI at the Opportunity Funding Corporation Venture Challenge in Atlanta, USA. Students entering the competition benefit from entrepreneurial opportunities and experiences.
Students teams should submit two (2) copies of their business plans to the offices of the Mona School of Business which will provide information regarding the guidelines for the written business plan. Business plans must be submitted no later than September 30, 2006; Each team should have a minimum of four or a maximum of five members; and At least one member of the team must be an MBA student or a final year business student. Other members of the team could be from any discipline or undergraduate students. Personal development opportunities, training and coaching sessions are offered to finalists to enhance their business planning and business presentation skills. Entrants also compete for monetary prizes for the winning team; and a place in the Vincent HoSang (Entrepreneurship) Programme, for the possible conversion of their business plans to actual businesses.
