As from July 31, 2006 Life of Jamaica will cease to be the health carrier on behalf of the staff of The University of the West Indies. However, the Campus Administration has entered into agreement with Blue Cross of Jamaica to provide health coverage with effect from August 1, 2006.
The new monthly rates, payable by staff, will be as follows: Employee - $305.65, Employee + 1 Dependent - $606.48 and Family - $892.20.
The distribution of the new health cards, along with supporting information, will be done at the following times indicated: Friday, July 28 and Monday, July 31 to Friday, August 4, 10.00 a.m. to 4.00 p.m., (excluding August 1, 2006). The distribution locations are: UAWU Conference Room-for Staff, Maintenance Services, Sunken Garden, FMS, UHWI-for Staff, Clinical Departments, Inter-Faculty Lecture Theatre
-for Staff, all other Departments.
For verification of our health data, you are required to bring the following supporting documents as may be relevant: identification cards; birth certificates of dependents; verification of attendance, in the coming school year, from educational institutions for dependents over age nineteen.
