Principal and Pro-Vice Chancellor of the Mona Campus, Professor Elsa Leo-Rhynie seeks to engage all major stakeholders in discussion on the way forward for the institution, as such all students both part-time and full-time, are invited to share their ideas at a meeting to be held in the Assembly Hall at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 14, 2006. This meeting is apart of the process of preparing a Strategic Plan for the 2007-20012 period.
The University of the West Indies has faced several challenges over the years including increased pressure of funding and competition. However the University wishes to remain competitive and offer quality education to the people of the Caribbean so that it can continue to contribute to the region’s development. UWI is therefore taking steps to develop a more inclusive decision making process among its stakeholders through its Strategic Plan for 2007-2012.
As UWI attempts to make the institution more student-centred, students are asked participate in the process by making the best use of the opportunity available and attending this meeting so that their valuable input can influence the future of our university.
