PSCCA Receives 14 Nominations for Actor Boy Award
The University Players, re-established in 2003 as the resident theatre company for the Philip Sherlock Centre for the Creative Arts (PSCCA), UWI, received an unprecedented fourteen nominations for the upcoming Actor Boy Awards, 2006. The nominations are for two productions which the company staged last year, the first being "Maharani's Misery", based on the book of the same name by UWI's Professor Verene Shepherd, adapted for the stage by PSCCA Staff Tutor, Brian Heap and students of the Centre's course in Twentieth Century Theatre and Polly Teale's "After Mrs. Rochester."
The Actor Boy Award nominations include: two for Best Production, two for Best Director, two for Best Actress, two for Best Actress in a Supporting Role, one for Best Actor in a Supporting Role, as well as others for Best Drama, Original Script and Technical Achievement.
The Actor Boy Awards Ceremony will take place at the Little Theatre, on Tuesday March 27. The University Community and the public are invited to attend by obtaining tickets from the Little-Little Theatre Box Office.
