"The University of the West Indies has begun the process of Planning for a University-wide celebration of the 60th Anniversary of the founding of the institution. We would like to prepare a Publication entitled "60 Exceptional UWI Academics". I am seeking the help of the full UWI Community in identifying twenty academics under 40 years old, twenty between 40 and 50 years old and twenty between 50 and 60 years old who have made exceptional scholarly contributions, particularly if some of those contributions have benefited the Region.

I invite you all (including students) to submit the name of a colleague or Teacher or even your own name, and a few sentences on the achievements of the person.

Nominations should be sent to uwi60thsecretariat@uwimona.edu.jm by April 30. We hope we can announce the 60 selected names to the whole University community by the end of June 2007".
