It was with profound sadness that The University of the West Indies learnt of the passing of one of its former colleagues, Barrington Lynch on October 16. The University extends its condolences to the family and close friends of Mr. Lynch.

He joined the staff of the Department of Management Studies in February 1990 as a contractor to provide night watchman services on the building remaining with the department for 15 years. Over the years, Mr. Lynch averted several robbery attempts and was awarded in 2003 for his heroic efforts in saving the department from total destruction by flames when we had a fire in March of that year.

The funeral service celebrating the life of Barrington Lynch will be held on Saturday, October 28 at Guy's Hill Gospel Chapel at 11:00 am.
