UWI Games Comes to Mona Campus
The University of the West Indies, Mona Campus will host the bi annual UWI Games formerly known as the Inter Campus Games for the tenth time from May 17-24. The Games features competitive sporting activities among the UWI Campuses in ten sports, an increase from six in previous years. The sporting competition are track and field, cricket, netball, football, volleyball, swimming, table tennis, hockey, basketball and lawn tennis.
The UWI Games will blast off with a parade and opening ceremony on May 17. Over the week the UWI campuses will compete in various sports vying for the title of UWI Games champion which will be presented at the closing ceremony to be held Thursday, May 24.
The UWI Games is not geared only to the University population, but to the public. A special invitaition is extended to all students, staff, alumni and friends to participate in the Games by either competing or supporting these event that promises to showcase the talent of the University.
