AIDS Week 2006

Mary Seacole Hall in collaboration with several groups namely: Standing Committee on Reproductive Health (SCORH); UWI Student Emergency Response Team (UWISERT); UWI Development and Endowment Fund (UWIDEF); UWI HIV/AIDS Response Programme (UWIHARP) and Student CARE present AIDS WEEK 2006 from November 26 to December 1; under the theme “What is YOUR position?” The week’s activities commence with a Church Service at the UWI Chapel on Sunday, November 26 at 9:00 a.m. There will also be a march around the Ring Road at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, November 27 starting at the Mary Seacole Hall car park. On Tuesday, November 28 there will be an interactive discussion in the Dining Room starting at 7 pm, while on Wednesday, November 29 this day will be celebrated as Red Ribbon Donation Drive Day, with the day also featuring a seminar at 7pm in the Mary Seacole Dining Room.
The week continues with other activities such as a Symposium being held at the Undercroft on Thursday, November 30 at 12 noon followed by free HIV Testing at Assembly Hall at 2:00 p.m. and Condom Sampling at Integration Thursday. Friday, December 1 closes the week of activities with free HIV Testing continued, and Condom Demonstration at Mary Seacole Hall and the Health Centre. There will also be a Red Ribbon Poetry Fest at Pages Café commencing at 7 pm and a concert at Mary Seacole Hall Dining Room.
