In preparation for the switch to the New Integrated Library System, ALEPH, the UWI Mona Library will be offering a fine amnesty on long overdue items. This amnesty will run during the period December 4 – 30, 2006 and no fines will be charged for books which were due before December 4 upon return. Users are encouraged to use this opportunity to return long overdue items.
The amnesty will not be applied to fines already calculated and outstanding or to items borrowed after December 4 and subsequently returned overdue.
The implementation of the new library system is a University-wide project and comes into effect on all three campuses in January, 2007. It will facilitate improved service delivery as well as greater resource sharing between the campus libraries.
