Professor Lawrence Carrington, Director of the School of Continuing Studies (SCS) announced the appointment of Mrs. Luz Longsworth to the position of Deputy Director of the SCS, as of January 1, 2007. Mrs. Longsworth has been seconded to this position for one year from her substantive position as the Resident Tutor and Head of the University Centre in Belize. She has taken up her new responsibilities since January 8.
Mrs. Longsworth has a long history of service with the University of the West Indies (UWI) before her 2004 appointment as Resident Tutor for Belize. She held several positions including: Executive Assistant to the then Principal of the Mona Campus, Professor Gerald Lalor from 1992 to 1996 and four years of service as an Assistant Lecturer in the then Faculty of Arts and General Studies.
Mrs. Longsworth is a UWI graduate where she obtained a Bachelor of Arts and a Masters in Business Administration.
