The United Theological College of the West Indies (UTCWI), an affiliate of the University of the West Indies will begin its Founders’ Day 2007 celebrations with a church service at the University Chapel at 6 pm on Monday, March 12. At the service, Reverend Dr. Lesley Anderson will be installed as the college’s eighth president and the preacher will be Reverend Dr. Alford W.W. Alphonse, Chaplain, VISTAS Health Care Corporation, USA.

The Founders’ Day activities continue with two lectures on Wednesday, March 14 on the grounds of the UTCWI. The Reverend Dr. Dora Arce Valentin, Professor at Matanza Theological Seminary, Cuba will be the presenter for the two lectures. The first lecture entitled Liberation Theology in a Caribbean Context takes place at 9:30 am and is followed by a second lecture at 4:00 pm on the topic Economic Justice and Gender Justice from the Perspective of Cuban Theology.
