The UWI School of Nursing Conference
The UWI School of Nursing, Mona (UWISON, Nursing and Midwifery Research Centre will host the 18th Annual Nursing Midwifery Research Conference and the 19th Annual Mary J. Seivwright Day from May 31 to June 1 at the Jamaica Conference Centre. The theme for the Conference is “Nursing Research Providing Evidence for Improved Nursing Practice.” The Conference begins on Thursday, May 31 with an Opening Ceremony at 8:30 a.m. The guest speaker will be Dr. Dame Davis, President of the International Confederation of Midwives and Director, World Health Organization (WHO) Collaborating Centre for Midwifery. Honourable Syringa Marshall-Burnett, President of the Senate, will also make a special presentation at the Opening Ceremony. The guest speaker on Mary J. Seivwright Day will be Dr. Jean Watson, Distinguished Professor of Nursing at University of Colorado and a leading expert in the Science of Caring.
The Conference will also feature several scientific addressing topics including: Asthma Education and Management, Health Care Systems and Research, Issues in Patient Care and Research Skills Building Workshop.
