Congratulation to the Actor Boy Awards Winners
The University of the West Indies extends congratulations to members of UWI community on being declared winners in the various categories at the recently held 2007 Actor Boy Awards. Brian Heap, Staff Tutor in Drama, Phillip Sherlock Centre for the Creative Arts, UWI received awards for the Best Special Effects for Howzatt and Best Director for After Mrs. Rochester. Also receiving awards were: The University Players for Best Production and Best Drama for After Mrs. Rochester, UWI lecturer, Franklyn St. Juste for Best Lighting Design in De Moon In de Crossroads and UWI graduate, Karl Williams for Best New Jamaican Play, Not About Eve. Michael Holgate, graduate student in Cultural studies, UWI, Mona was the recipients of several awards namely: Best Original Score and Best Actor in Lead Role in Curfew, Best Original Song for Can You Hear and Best Choreography along with Kelly Barrett for Curfew. Other winners were: Alwyn Bully for Best Set Design in De Moon in De Crossroads, Angela Strudwick for Best Costume Design and Nadia Khan for Best Actress in Supporting Role both in After Mrs. Rochester.
