The University of the West Indies, Mona wishes to advise that Guild of Students elections will be on Tuesday, April 10, 2007 from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Assembly Hall. The present Guild Council is expected to continue until that time.
The University further advises that some students have requested an inquiry into certain aspects of the operations of the 2006/2007 Guild Council and that a Committee chaired by Mr. Peter O’Sullivan, Student Services Manager, Taylor Hall has been established to investigate these concerns.
Also, the University will be initiating disciplinary procedures with respect to the conduct of students who displayed inappropriate behaviour at the Guild Debate.
There will also be a review of the candidates whose nominations were rescinded.
