Sir Frank Walcott Symposium
The Hugh Lawson Shearer Trade Union Education Institute and the Barbados Unit of the School of Continuing Studies in collaboration with the Barbados Workers Union, invite submissions for presentation at The Sir Frank Walcott Symposium. The symposium will be held from September 16-18 at ‘Solidarity House’ the Headquarters of the Barbados Workers Union, Bridgetown, Barbados under the theme “Celebrating a Trade Union Legend”.

The Symposium is inspired by the life and work of the late Sir Frank Walcott, a trade union icon. Sir Frank Walcott was a stalwart who for many years was Dean of the Caribbean Trade Union Movement and since 1948 held the distinguished position of General Secretary of the Barbados Workers’ Union. His contribution to trade unionism is renowned nationally, regionally and internationally.
