The Department of History and Archaeology presents the 23rd Annual Elsa Goveia Memorial Lecture under the theme “Taking Leave: Fugitive Slaves and the coming of the American Civil War.” The Lecture takes place on Wednesday, May 9 at 6 pm at the Philip Sherlock Centre for the Creative Arts, Mona Campus.
Professor Richard Blackett, Andrew Jackson Professor of History, Vanderbilt University, Tennessee, USA, will deliver the Lecture.
