"Purposeful Speech Writing and Effective Public Speaking"
The CARIMAC summer programme is currently underway. One of the courses being offered is "Purposeful Speech Writing and Effective Public Speaking". This course seeks to equip participants with knowledge and skills that can be useful in areas of communication that require speaking publicly to an audience. The course promotes the concept that public speaking has a special role in advocacy as a means of garnering support by sharing information that will make audiences think, feel and do. The course is being offered at a cost of $12, 000.00 and will run from July 10-18, 2007. The deadline for registration and payment of fees is July 6, 2007.
The presenter is Sydney 'Tony' Lowrie, Communication and Services Manager of the Shipping Association of Jamaica. He also has more than 20 years experience in media and communications, in both the private and public sectors and is a speech-writer for leaders in government, the private sector and non-governmental organizations.
