On-line Certificate Programme in Substance Abuse Prevention and Treatment
The University of the West Indies Distance Education Centre (UWIDEC) is offering an On-line Certificate Programme in Substance Abuse Prevention and Treatment, in association with the Organization of American States (OAS)/ Inter-American Drug Abuse Control Commission (CICAD) and the Faculty of Social Studies, Cave Hill. The programme commences in September 2007 and continues until August 2008. The application period is June 1- 30.
The official launch of the Programme takes place on Monday, June 11 at the Mona Visitors’ Lodge and Conference Centre, UWI, Mona.
This programme is a regional, UWI-based on-line continuing education programme in drug demand reduction, which will upgrade the professional qualifications of individuals working in national, regional and international efforts to prevent substance abuse in the Caribbean region and beyond. It aims to enhance the regional response to the challenges associated with substance abuse through training and the development of a lasting network of professionals in the field.
