Jean Smith, Consultant, Office of the Vice Chancellor, UWI, recently launched her book Praise Song. According to Vice Chancellor Emeritus Professor the Honourable Rex Nettleford “a good deal but not nearly enough has been recorded in celebration of the growth and development of Jamaica, captured through the sense and sensibility of its many compassionate, caring and sensitive sons and daughters who through their life and relationships have given ideals, form and purpose-in other words, real meaning-to life and living in a place like Jamaica.” He adds, “Jean Smith’s Praise Song "provides a welcome corrective to the deficit in its celebration of all who been good to the land they have tenanted in spirit of sharing, of generosity, creative engagement and all that makes life worth living."
