“Gender, Sexuality and Wellness”

“Gender, Sexuality and Wellness” is the theme of the annual Jamaica Psychiatric Association conference, which takes place at Jamaica Pegasus Hotel on Sunday, August 19 at 8:30 am. The Dr. Roy Cooke Memorial Lecture will be delivered by Professor of Literary and Cultural Studies, UWI, Mona, Professor Carolyn Cooper. Her presentation is entitled “I don’t want to be a pilot: Sexing Language in Jamaican Popular Culture.” The Conference will also feature several discussions and exhibitions on areas relating to the theme.

Psychiatrists, psychologists, medical doctors, mental health officers, nurses, guidance counsellors and other health professionals as well as other interested individuals are invited to register and attend this event. The cost is J$2500 for medical doctors and J$2000 for other attendees. Five (5) CME Hours is awarded to medical practitioners for attending this conference.
