The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), Jamaica Section, will host a special two hour presentation titled “Digital Television Standards: Its Implications for Jamaica” on Wednesday, July 16, 2008 at the Hilton Kingston Hotel at 6 pm.

Robert Graves, Chairman of Advanced Television Systems Committee (ATSC) Forum, USA, will deliver the presentation. His presentation will explore the ATSC standards, the economic and technical advantages and reasons for adaptation of ATSC standards in Jamaica/CARICOM.

This presentation is timely and is of significe since Jamaica in the short term will embark on a digital switch over plan. This action will impact on the television infrastructure and the viewing population.
