Occupational and Environmental Safety and Health Symposium
“Cutting Edge Developments in Global Occupational and Environmental, Safety and Health” is the theme of the Symposium being hosted by the Department of Chemistry on Tuesday, July 29, 2008 at 1:30 pm in the Chemistry Lecture Theatre (Chem 5).
Several topics related to occupational health and safety will be explored including alcohol and health trends; the internship experience; Silica: Still an Occupational hygiene problem; culture towards occupational safety and occupational stress. Presentations will be made by experts including Dr. Norbert L. Wagner, University of South Florida, Professor Michael Morgan, University of Washington, Audrey Hussey, UWI, Mona and Professor Harri Vianio, Finnish Institute of Occupational Health Helsinki, Finland.
The Symposium is designed to encourage dialogue and engage the public in discussion about occupational and environmental safety and health issues.
The university community and the public are invited to attend.
