The University of the West Indies, Mona will host its annual Matriculation and Welcome Ceremony for all first year students on Thursday, September 4, 2008 at 4:00 pm in the Assembly Hall. Students are required to assemble on the lawn facing the Undercroft by 2:15 pm for the signing of the Matriculation Register at 2:30 pm.

A Matriculation Ceremony is the occasion on which students are formally recognized as members of a university. Their acceptance into the academic community is marked by the signing of the Matriculation Register. New students will be officially met and welcomed by senior management of the University including the Vice Chancellor, Campus Principal, Faculty Deans and the Director of Student Services and Development.  

All first year students are required to attend. Members of staff are also invited to share in this occasion with the new students.
