The University of the West Indies, Mona hosts the historical Walter Rodney Conference from October 16-18, 2008 to mark the 40th anniversary of the organized student protest that occasioned the banning of Walter Rodney. The Conference is organized by the Institute of Caribbean Studies and the Centre for Caribbean Thought, in collaboration with the Guild of Students at the UWI, Mona and the Africana Studies Department at Brown University.
