Minister of Industry and Commerce to Speak at the Launch of the UWI BSc in Management Studies (Entrepreneurship)
“The Role of Tertiary Institutions in the Development of Innovation and Enterprise” is the title of the address being given by Hon. Karl Samuda, Minister of Industry and Commerce at the official Launch of the Bachelor of Science in Management Studies (Entrepreneurship) degree at The University of the West Indies, Mona. The Launch Ceremony takes place on Thursday, September 25, 2008 at 6:30 pm at the Mona Visitors’ Lodge and Conference Centre, The University of the West Indies, Mona.
The occasion will also be used for the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the University of the West Indies, Mona and Jamaica Business Development Centre (JBDC).
The Bachelor of Science in Management Studies (Entrepreneurship) was introduced in the 2008/9 academic year is and the newest addition to the Department of Management Studies’ undergraduate offerings. The programme is designed to produce graduates with the requisite entrepreneurial training and tools with the capacity to create jobs for themselves and others while contributing to economic growth and development.
