Health Centre Improvements on the Way
At the recently held inaugural University Health Centre Open Day and Health Fair Dr. Blossom Anglin-Brown, Clinical Director, UWI Health Centre unveiled new initiatives of the Health Centre to be launched on a phased basis. These initiatives are designed to improve the efficiency of the range of services offered.
Dr. Anglin-Brown outlined that by the end of the first semester of the 2008/9 academic year UWI staff, their dependents, students and retirees will see the installation of customer service kiosks at the Health Centre to enable persons to book appointments electronically as well as access other electronic services to be provided by the Health Centre.
In addition, to the Customer Service Kiosks the Health Centre has plans to introduce online purchasing of over the counter drugs. This will allow users of the Health Centre the convenience of purchasing over the counter drugs and making payment via debit or credit card and then collecting drugs at a later date. Also available on line is online appointment booking whereby UWI staff, their dependents, students and retirees are able to set appointments with the Health Centre practitioners by visiting http://health.uwimona.edu.jm/.
