UWI, Mona Kicks Off Staff Sports Day, October 25
The University of the West Indies, Mona kicks off its first staff Sports Day on Saturday, October 25, 2008 at the Mona Bowl. The day’s activities seek to engage all staff members through six main events namely: dominoes, cricket, football (six a side), netball, table tennis and novelty events. All staff members and their families are invited to participate in the activities. A special Kiddies Corner will be accommodated to entertain and engage the children. The Sports Day is preceded by an Opening Ceremony on Thursday, October 23, 2008 at 5 pm at the Mona Bowl.
The Sports Day is designed to promote wellness and healthy living among employees. The event is organized collaboratively between the Human Resource Management Division and the Sports Department of UWI, Mona. This Sports Day is envisioned as part of the overall wellness thrust of the Campus as supported through efforts of the University Health Centre, Sports Department, the Human Resource Management Division and the senior management.
